Ncsu Turfgrass Student Matt Jeffries Recipient of 2015 Chris Stiegler Turfgrass Science Student Travel Award

Matt Jeffries, who is completing his Ph.D. studies in Crop Science – Pesticide Environmental Fate under Drs. Travis Gannon and Fred Yelverton of the NCSU Turfgrass Program, has been selected as a recipient of the 2015 Chris Stiegler Turfgrass Science Student Travel Award. Presentation will be next month at the Division C-5 Turfgrass Science Business Meeting in Minneapolis, where top turfgrass scholars in the nation will be honored.                    

Matt received his M.S. in Crop Science – Weed Science in 2012 and B.S. in Turfgrass Science in 2009 from NC State University. His doctoral dissertation: “Off-Target Pesticide Displacement and Fate in Turfgrass, Riparian and Aquatic Systems.” Congratulations, Matt!
