— Written By

This newsletter contains the daily situation reports from the State Emergency Operation Center for the Hurricane Matthew response.

Here are the following updates that occurred over the weekend:

Mass Carcass Mortality

The State Veterinarian’s office is tracking the loss of poultry and livestock animals from Hurricane Matthew and reminds producers to report animal mortality due to Hurricane Matthew.

The Agriculture Incident Management Team reminds commercial facilities that mass mortality for poultry and swine commercial operations is greater than or equal to 20% of the farm’s population, or greater than or equal to 10 cows or horses. If your operation has experienced a mass animal mortality event from the storm. The Mortality Management group will work with you to review and discuss animal carcass disposal options for your location.

Please contact the Emergency Hotline at 1-866-645-9403 to report both.
