US DOT Hotline
For individualized temporary routing information, US DOT has set up a routing assistance hotline for livestock producers. Please call 888-407-4275 and they will check the current closure information and develop a possible route for you. They will need the origin and destination of the shipments, as well as the weight of the vehicle to give you the best route possible.
This is a reminder that some landfills are not accepting animal mortality without prior approval. Call at least two hours ahead to the landfill that you intend to use to find out what their receiving policy is. Download the updated spreadsheet of landfills accepting animal mortality (XLS).
