— Written By NC State Extension

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced today that Disaster SNAP (D-SNAP) benefits are being implemented in counties impacted by Hurricane Florence. The D-SNAP program will extend benefits to some families not normally eligible for SNAP benefits. Eligibility will be determined based on income limits and qualifying disaster-related expenses. Potential applicants should monitor public information to see where and when they can apply for benefits in their county.
