Three of North Carolina’s state-operated farmers markets will begin serving as drop-off locations for hurricane relief supplies starting today through Sunday, Oct. 6. Times are as follows:

In addition, the Western N.C. Farmers Market is serving as a collection and distribution site through Oct. 5 for MANNA FoodBank after its warehouse was destroyed during Hurricane Helene. Donation hours at this site are 8 a.m. to noon and distribution hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Items needed at this location include shelf-stable food (pop-top cans preferred), bottled water, baby and toddler formula and food, and diapers.

“The tremendous need in our Western N.C. communities is being met by an outpouring of support from across the state, and these collection locations will give community members a place to drop off much needed supplies,” said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler.

“Please bring only what is being requested at this time as these items represent the most pressing needs in the impacted areas.”

At the Raleigh, Colfax and Charlotte markets, the only items being accepted at this time include:

  • First Aid Kits
  • Bottled Water
  • Feminine Products
  • Diapers (infant and adult)
