Vanload of cleaning supplies and foodSeptember 26 Update: The first load of cleaning supplies and food items were delivered on Tuesday to the Swansboro area of Onslow County. Additional donations will be delivered to other areas where needs are identified. Thank you for your support of these efforts.

The following information was made available through a flyer distributed by the N.C. 4-H office.

Hurricane Florence made landfall on the North Carolina coast the morning of Friday, September 14, 2018, causing catastrophic flooding, damaging winds, and widespread power outages across the Carolinas. As the storm moved inland, from September 15 to 17, heavy rain caused widespread inland flooding, swamping cities such as Fayetteville, Lumberton, and Swansboro, to name a few. Millions of North Carolina residents lost their homes, property, livestock, crops, and businesses.

Our 4-H friends across the country helped us during our time of need during the most recent: Matthew, Floyd, and Fran. 4-H Clubs, 4-H’ers, individual, volunteers, and County Agents contributed the much-needed essential supplies including cash donations, to us during our time of need. Supplies and money that was collected by our 4-H family across the country was sent directly to our families in need.

North Carolina 4-H would like to ask that you help our fellow 4-H families in SE North Carolina by collecting the following supplies, which will be collected at the State 4-H Office, located at 520 Brickhaven Drive, Raleigh.
